Gout is a form of inflammatory arthritis that is often associated with a rich lifestyle. It is more common in men over 40 but can affect anyone. Notice caused by excess uric acid in the body which causes a build up of sodium earache crystals in the cartilage and tendons causing inflammation in the joint. This information can be accompanied by swelling and redness and can be very painful.


Gout attacks can last for minutes or weeks. Initially it is usually in a single joint and often starts in the big toe. But as time goes on it can affect other joints and can even deform them.


Treating Gout


You can try to keep go and check by avoiding alcohol and foods that are high in purines. Purines affects the body’s processing of your account said thus causing too much of it to be in the body. Foods to avoid include red meats, organ meats, game meats, anchovies, sardines and asparagus to name but a few.


Some people say that cherries help reduce gout attacks. Either canned or fresh, sweet or sour it doesn’t seem to matter eating a handful or two of cherries a day might help keep the gout away.


Another thing that seems to be effective in treating them as charcoal. A process or bath of activated powdered charcoal can draw the toxins from the body and alleviate some of the uric acid which causes the problem. You can also eat the charcoal which some people say is very effective.


Lifestyle Changes


Perhaps the best way to avoid gout is to make sure that you live a healthy lifestyle. Drink plenty of water and eat lots of organic fruits and vegetables. Drink alcohol and consume rich foods sparingly. Make sure you keep your weight down and exercise every day. Doing these things will not in the help you to treat gout, it will also help boost your immune system and add to your overall health and feeling of well-being.

US-based Savient Pharmaceuticals has announced that the FDA has accepted for review the companys biologics license application for pegloticase, a biological drug for treatment-failure gout patients.

Savient Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: SVNT) announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has accepted for review the Company's Biologics License Application (BLA) for pegloticase, a novel biological drug for treatment-failure gout (TFG) patients. The FDA also granted the Company's BLA with a priority review status which accelerates the review period to six months.
